The ANC in the legislature has welcomed the appointment of SACP’s Themba Mthembu to the position of the KZN Legislature Deputy Speaker.
Mthembu, who has been occupying the Chair of chairs position in the legislature is replacing Mluleki Ndobe who died earlier this month.
Subsequent to Mthembu becoming the deputy speaker of the legislature, Siboniso Duma has been elected Chair of Chairs replacing Mthembu.
Duma has been replaced by T. S. Mtshali as Chairperson of the Transport Portfolio Committee, a position that was previously occupied by Duma.
Zinhle Cele has also been elected as the Chairperson of COGTA Portfolio Committee, filling the vacant that opened during the passing away of Ricardo Mthembu.
The party’s chief whip in the Legislature Super Zuma says they believe that the choices made during these appointments speaks to the commitment of the ANC to ensure better life for all.
