KZN MEC Pledges Support for Women’s Empowerment in Construction Sector.

KZN Transport and Human Settlements MEC Siboniso Duma has affirmed his department’s commitment to empowering women in the province through various construction skills programmes.

Duma made this statement during a visit to Thornwood in the western part of eThekwini, where he was monitoring the Rehabilitation and Rectification project, valued at R150 million, which is set to benefit hundreds of residents.

Both departments have a combined budget of over R16 billion, aimed at supporting women, who constitute the majority in the province.

The MEC emphasised that both departments are determined to expedite the entry of women into the construction sector.
