The Special Investigating Unit (SIU) says it has identified three provinces, namely KZN, Gauteng, and the Western Cape as corruption hot spots.
The unit says it has decided to pursue all those officials who resigned in the face of an investigation or disciplinary actions.
SIU Spokesperson, Kaizer Kganyago, says they will do this by freezing their pensions and institute civil litigation to recover financial losses suffered by state institutions.
Kganyago adds that trending forms of corruption include maladministration, misappropriation of resources, and procurement irregularities.
