KZN Police Raise Concern About Kwamashu Hostel

The Police in KwaZulu-Natal has acknowledged the many difficulties they face when conducting their work in and around the KwaMashu Hostel, saying monitoring this area has proven to be very difficult.

The comment follows the shooting of four men at the hostel yesterday evening.

It is understood that a group of gunmen opened fire on victims at the KwaMashu men’s hostel killing 3 and wounding one person who eventually succumbed to his wounds at a local clinic.

Police spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says while the motive for the killing is not yet clear, initial police investigations have revealed that the assailants were hitmen.
