KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Siboniso Duma, says his department has a zero-tolerance approach towards those who disregard the law.

Duma has led a multi-stakeholder roadblock operation along the R617 in Boston, in the KZN Midlands, alongside the Mayor of uMgungundlovu District Municipality, Mzi Zuma, and the Mayor of Impendle Municipality, Buyisani Mlaba. The operation aimed to promote road safety and enforce transport regulations.

During the roadblock, authorities confiscated illicit cigarettes, apprehended undocumented foreign nationals, and impounded unlicensed vehicles.

Speaking to Gagasi FM News, Duma said they would take a zero-tolerance approach towards those who break the law.

Meanwhile, Chief Protection Officer in the Impendle Municipality, Khanyisani Dlomo, says the inception of the municipality’s traffic unit has helped reduce the number of accidents.
