KZN, WC, Limpopo & Mpumalanga Positivity Rates a Major Concern – Mkhize

Health Minister Zweli Mkhize says the majority of new cases today are from KwaZulu-Natal with 2 275, 30,5%, cases.

Mkhize revealed this during the National Coronavirus Command Council’s briefing on the Level 3 COVID-19 restrictions, regulations and enforcement.

President Cyril Ramaphosa, yesterday, announced that the country was moving back to lockdown alert level 3, as of today, due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases.

This week, South Africa breached the 1 million positive cases mark, with over 7000 new cases yesterday.

Mkhize says 11 256 patients are currently hospitalised and of these, 3 543 are on oxygen and 604 are on ventilators.
