Lamola Vows to Root Out Corruption

Justice minister, Ronald Lamola, says government is enabling the Hawks and other Law enforcement agencies to pursue corruption in the private sector.

Lamola has been addressing Members of Parliament during the 2021 State of the Nation Address Debate.

The 2020 Transparency International Corruption Perceptions Index assigned South Africa an index of 43 out of 100, ranking the country 71 out of 180 countries.

Lamola says private sector corruption must be prosecuted with the same devotion as public sector corruption to restore faith in the justice system.
