Lekota tables the importance of individuals running for elections

Cope leader Moseo Lekota says it’s important for individuals to be allowed to stand for elections.
Lekota along with One SA Movement leader, Mmusi Maimane, and businessman Michael Louis, has been tabling a bill in Parliament aimed at electoral reform.
The Direct Election Bill is aimed at individuals running for public office following a recent Constitutional Court ruling.
The apex court, ordered Parliament to change the country’s electoral laws to allow for independent candidates to stand in an election.
