Eskom says the country will see less load shedding, after the month of April as they have already begun catching up on maintenance.

Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter, his team, and Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan have been briefing Parliament’s public enterprises committee this afternoon.

De Ruyter has told the committee that defects and the low-quality coal are the reason Eskom experiences low energy capacity, which creates the need for load shedding.

He says for now though SA will see an increase in power outages as they fix all defects.
