Lucky Star & Gagasi FM partner to change Lives during Mandela Month

26 July 2022

Apart from being famous for being the number 1 regional commercial radio station which boasts of over 1, 5 million listeners, Gagasi FM is also famous for touching and changing lives for the better. Gagasi FM has changed even more lives after partnering with Lucky Star, a South African heritage brand, during Mandela Month. Lucky Star gave away R10 000.00 to Dawede Primary School situated at Molweni in KZN.

Dawede Primary School was adopted by Gagasi FM in January 2022 during the Geleza neGagasi CSI campaign. The school was in dire need of functioning toilets for the pupils and classrooms were in a bad state. The generous donation by Lucky Star was much needed assistance for the school since it was also hard hit by the KZN floods that took place in April 2022.

When Mandela Month came upon us Gagasi FM had been heavily active on the ground donating much needed supplies to those who needed it the most since the plight of the KZN floods. The radio station has covered areas that include Umlazi, Inanda, Molweni, Clermont Kwa Dabeka and eNdwedwe. In each of the areas Gagasi FM visited, over 20 families were assisted with food supplies, toiletries, water and baby supplies in each area. Community halls were the shelters for families who left destitute after the devastating floods. In the spirit of Mandela Month, Lucky Star also provided a generous helping hand that was well received by Mrs Zwane the Principal of Dawede Primary School, “Thank you so much Lucky Star, you cannot imagine the difference this donation is going to make in the lives of our pupils, I am lost for words. Thank you, thank you so much” said Mrs Zwane.

Gagasi FM will always provide meaningful assistance to our listeners who make us great. Their cries do not go unnoticed because Lucky Star and Gagasi FM strive to put KZN first. #GagasiFMCares4KZN
