Mabuza Commemorates World Aids Day

Deputy president David Mabuza has called for unity in the fight against HIV/Aids.

Mabuza who is also the chairperson of the South African National Aids Council, had been delivering a World Aids Day commemoration address in Soweto-Gauteng.

This year’s theme is “We’re in this together – Cheka Impilo”, with a core focus on encouraging people to check their health status.

He says since the launch of the Cheka Impilo campaign, several strides have been achieved in the fight against HIV/Aids.

Mabuza says government programmes aimed at educating and helping South Africans understand more about HIV/Aids, have helped reduce Aids related deaths by 60%.
