ANC Secretary General, Ace magashule, says that Radical Economic Transformation (RET) is a policy that was adopted at the Nasrec elective conference.
Magashule has been speaking in Soweto where he is attending the wreath-laying ceremony at the grave of struggle stalwart, Charlotte Maxeke.
This follows the party’s president, Cyril Ramaphosa, announcing that an NEC meeting has agreed that no ANC member should associate themselves with or be involved in the so-called Radical Economic Transformation Forces.
Magashule says people can’t change it and turn it around by calling it something else.
“The economy must be in the hands of African people. There is no country in the world where the majority are actually not the owners of the economy,”” states Magashule.
Contrary to these remarks, Ramaphosa also announced that NEC called on members to rally around this decision and not engage in any acts of indiscipline, including through public statements that undermine the implementation of conference resolutions.
On the issue of the step aside resolution, Magashule says internal processes of the ANC must be left to the party to deal with.
