Malema Calls for Rotating Leadership in Africa

EFF leader Julius Malema says the Pan African Parliament (PAP) must strengthen its rules to ensure leadership rotates to all regions of the continent.

Malema, who is a member of PAP, had been speaking to media at the official opening of the 4th Ordinary session of the Fifth Parliament.

Today Africa commemorate Africa Day, under the theme, The year of Arts, Culture and Heritage in the year of Charlotte Maxeke, where it commemorates the founding of the Organisation of African Unity on this day in 1963.

Malema says rotating leadership will ensure accountability.

Furthermore, PAP member Thandi Modise, who is also the speaker of the South African National Assembly, says the COVID-19 pandemic has increased the general exposure of African women towards Gender Based Violence (GBV) and femicide.

Modise says it’s important for the African continent to unite against the scourge of GBV and inequality.
