Mamelodi Sundowns retain sixth successive DSTV Premiership title

Mamelodi Sundowns have won the 2022-23 DStv Premiership with seven games to play.

Sundowns has won a sixth straight South African Premiership title while preparing to play in a Confederation of African Football (CAF) competition. SuperSport were the last team with a remote mathematical chance of catching up to their neighbours but after being held to a 1-1 stalemate can now only amass a maximum of 58 points – if they win all their remaining six games.

Amasandawane are currently on 59 points which means no team can surpass the number of points they have already collected this season. This is the team’s sixth consecutive PSL title and their 13th in total.
