Mamelosi Sundowns are through to the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.

Sundowns has thrashed Al-Ahly 5-2 in the return leg of the CAF Champions League group stages at the Loftus Versfeld. It’s the second biggest defeat in Al-Ahly’s history in the non-domestic competitions after Sundowns beat them 5-0 in the same competition.

Sundowns were completely dominant, and goals from Marcelo Allende, Themba Zwane, Teboho Mokwena and a brace from Peter Shaluli was enough for Amasandawana. After 4 games, Sundowns are sitting comfortable at the summit with and they will travel to Suid Arabia to play Al Hilal.

The DSTV Premiership Champions are now through to the quarter finals as Al Ahly will finish with 10 points. Coton Sport is already out and Al Hilal needs only one win from their 2 remaining games.
