Man dies in freak accident at Durban beachfront

Police are currently investigating a freak accident that took place at the beachfront fun-world this weekend where a man died after falling from a cable car.

The 23-year-old was on the cable car when he allegedly stood up and subsequently fell onto a moving ride on the ground.

Meanwhile EThekwini Mayor, Zandile Gumede, has expressed her condolences to the family.

Mayoral Spokesman, Mthunzi Gumede, says the man was rushed to Addington hospital where he later passed on.

“The Mayor of eThekwini, councillor Zandi Gumede, has expressed her deepest condolences to the family of a 23-year-old male who died after falling from a cable car at the Durban Beach Front. Reports indicate that the young man was on a cable car when he allegedly stood up and subsequently fell into a moving ride on the ground. He was rushed to hospital where he passed away. the matter has been handed over to the police for further investigation,” Gumede said.
