Mantashe Says Electricity Minister Will Ensure Energy Crisis Is Resovled

Mineral Resources and Energy Minister Gwede Mantashe says President Cyril Ramaphosa’s announcement of a Minister of Electricity will go a long way to ensuring that the current energy crisis gripping the country is resolved.
He was participating in the Joint debate on Ramaphosa’s State of the Nation Address in Cape Town.
Last week, Ramaphosa announced that he would appoint an electricity minister who will be located in the office of the President.
The President said the appointment is in response to dealing with the energy crisis which has been declared a National State of Disaster.
Mantashe says the new Electricity Minister’s role will be like a project manager.
