Mashaba Declares Action SA as Kingmakers in Metros

Action SA President, Herman Mashaba, says his party is willing to form coalition governments, but under very strict conditions on any agreement reached.

He has been speaking at the election center in Tshwane as the results of Monday’s Local Government Elections are being released.

The party is projected to perform well in Johannesburg, where Mashaba was once Mayor, and cement its support in other Gauteng metros of Ekhuruleni and Tshwane.

Mashaba says Action SA is now officially the kingmaker and not just a by-the- way party where people can come with their own research or polls.

He says voters have now spoken.

The party also has its sights on the eThekwini metro, where it has put forward Makhosi Khoza as mayoral candidate, however, Political Analyst Bheki Mngomezulu says this is only wishful thinking on their part.

He is predicting the ANC will retain the metro, but with a very small margin.
