Matric Exam Marking Set to Commence Tomorrow

The Department of Basic education is pleased that the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examination has ended without major incidents that can compromise the credibility of the 2021 exam.
More than 897 000 candidates registered to sit for the 2021 NSC exams, with 735 677 full-time and 162 109 part-time candidates.
Marking is scheduled to start tomorrow and end on December 22.
More than 41 500 markers have been appointed at 193 centres across all provinces.
Department Spokesperson, Elijah Mhlanga, says they’ve increased the number of marking centres to ensure better compliance to COVID 19 protocols.
