Matric Pass Rate Must Be Adjusted- Makaneta

Education activist, Hendrick Makaneta, says the Department of Basic Education really needs to adjust the matric pass requirement from 30% to 50%.

One SA Movement leader Mmusi Maimane has also been vocal about this matter, saying a 30-percent pass mark hurts pupils, the education system, and the economy in the long run.

Makaneta says learners need to understand that the higher their marks are, the more opportunities for further study and work will open up for them.
