Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula says the appointment of the PRASA Group CEO, Zolani Matthews, was another step closer to stabilising the organisation.
Mbalula says this during a Governance Workshop of the Board, in Pretoria on Saturday afternoon.
This workshop is meant to deal incisively with Corporate Governance and the role of the Board in enabling PRASA to deliver on its legal mandate.
“We must appreciate that we do not have the luxury of time to take a long-winded approach in restoring the services our people are so desperately in need of. When we appointed this Board, we signalled a break with that chaotic past and a new beginning that places at the centre of its focus the millions of South Africans who rely on your services for their livelihood,” ëxplains Mbalula.
Mbalula says that the Group CEO and his management cohort must be given the space, authority and support to hit the ground running in stabilising the services.
