Transport Minister, Fikile Mbalula, says its mandatory for every driver, owner or operator of the public service not to allow any commuter not wearing a mask into the taxi.
Mbalula alongside Ministers in the National Coronavirus Command Council had been outlining measures to ensure compliance to regulations to combat the spread of COVID-19.
On Sunday, President Cyril Ramaphosa placed the country on Adjusted Level 4, a measure aimed at arresting the third wave of the Coronavirus pandemic.
Long distance public transport is expected to continue with the 70% loading capacity gazetted in government gazette.
