Public Service and Administration minister, Senzo Mchunu, is urging South Africans to come to the table with suggestions on the deadlock over public servants’ salary negotiations.

A stalemate was reached last Friday, with government sticking to a 0% increase, while organised labour is insisting on Consumer Price Index plus four percent.

Mchunu says experts have already given their opinions.

Notions of a countrywide strike in the sector have already been mentioned if government doesn’t improve its initial offer.

Mchunu has urged labour and government in the talks to be patriotic, and put the interests of the citizens of the country first.
