DJ Lab shows
With an obsession of travelling, gaming at home in his leisure time, visiting his favourite restaurant, The Market, in Durban, tweeting to fans and loving his job as a DJ on Gagasi FM, Mduduzi Duma aka DJ Lab is “living life to the fullest”.
When he was younger he wanted to grow up to become an Architect, but as he grew older he realised his passion for the local music scene and started as a house DJ in 1999, and then changed to a Hip Hop DJ in 2003, because he had a better understanding of the genre. Because of his will to get Durban Hip hop songs played on the radio, he was eventually asked by Brian Thabethe to DJ on his weekend show and 6 years later, he is where he is today!
What is his favourite part of the job? “Shaping what the listeners at home are going to grow up on and giving as many artists as possible that feeling of hearing your joint get bumped on radio for the first time”. It is all about giving good talent that break!
