Simtho Dladla shows
Simtho hosts Extra Time which airs between 18h00 and 19h00 on Mondays and Fridays. He believes that there is no medium that is as intimate and immediate as radio. “Radio is fascinating. It’s where people get to learn about stuff happening around the world. Whether it’s current affairs, entertainment, or the weather. It’s where you hear your favourite music and talk shows.” He also does traffic updates on the breakfast and afternoon drive shows. He is also a DJ and he contributes mixes to some of the shows.
“Opportunities are there, radio is a very complex environment and there is always a possibility that you can find your niche outside of being a DJ. Whatever it is that you love to do, you can find it somewhere within the environment. My grandmother always says ‘umsebenzi uyahlonishwa’ so in whatever I do, I always make sure that I give my all.”
