Meyiwa Trial Postponed

The murder trial of the late Bafana Bafana captain and goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa has been postponed to the 22nd of April.
The lawyer of accused number 5 says the trial cannot continue citing prejudice This as the case against 5 accused of killing Meyiwa continues in the Gauteng High Court
On Monday the Court heard how some state witnesses had been placed under witness protection in preparation for this trial.
Meanwhile, the accused 1 to number 4 are requesting the state to investigate charges against them.
They say it still remains unclear why they were arrested and why are they standing trial for the murder of Meyiwa when they have been in jail serving their sentence when this occurred.
Meyiwa was killed in 2014 in an apparent robbery at the house of musician girlfriend Kelly Khumalo in Gauteng with six other witnesses including Kelly’s mother and sister, Zandie Khumalo.
Al the accused are currently serving sentences for various crimes
The defence has requested 5 days in order to prepare with their clients.
