Mini Budget to be Tabled Tomorrow

Finance Minister, Enoch Godongwana, will deliver his maiden Medium Term Budget Policy Statement in Parliament tomorrow, where he will be adjusting government spending.

The budget will also signal priorities and shifts for the next budget in February.

Economist Dawie Roodt says this is the minister’s opportunity to report on the progress made over the last six months.

He says no big announcements in terms of tax changes or policy changes are expected.

He adds that analysts are watching closely what the minister plans to do with the 2021/22 tax revenue overrun which they believe can amount to as much as R169-billion.
