Minister Zulu Says For Children To Be Protected, Communities Need To Unite

Social Development Minister Lindiwe Zulu says child protection can only be realised, through cooperation and joint efforts from various sectors of society. This includes bringing along all spheres of government under one roof, with a common objective.
Her call comes as South Africa launched the Child Protection Week campaign, which runs from May 28 to June 4.
In a discussion with the public broadcaster, Zulu says her department is compelled to intensify its efforts in the interest of children, adding that communities, as well as all organisations working with children, should unite in a side-by-side effort, despite the difference in race, belief or political affiliation in the interest of children.
