As the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases now reaching over 35 000 in the last 24 hours health minister, Zweli Mkhize, says people should avoid fearing the unknown as this is a major cause for panic, recklessness and the spread of fake information.
The minister has been touring hospitals in the Western Cape which are hard hit by the coronavirus.
He says the country needs to be working as one unit if it is to cut this number and limit the rapid spread of the virus.
Mkhize says government will also be using private beds confirming that there will be no difference in class of care for poor South Africans.
He adds that the only issue currently on the table is that of finance which they will be covering as government.
