The Democratic Alliance (DA) has opened a criminal case against Health Minister Zweli Mkhize.

The opposition party says it will stop at nothing until Mkhize is held accountable following the allegations of corruption.

A report by the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) has alleged Mkhize to be involved in the irregular awarding of a contract to a communications company owned by his acquaintanceS.

DA spokesperson, Siviwe Gwarube, says such damning allegations leveled against the minister cannot be ignored.

Although  the SIU says the investigation is still ongoing but Gwarube says they want the minister to step aside.
