Mkhize: Good health and hygiene should be second nature

Health minister, Zweli Mkhize, is urging elderly people and those that have chronic diseases to stay at home to avoid being infected with the coronavirus.

Mkhize had been speaking on the latest coronavirus cases in the Eastern Cape.

The country has more than 3465 COVID-19 confirmed cases, 58 deaths and 1055 recoveries.

Mkhize says the elderly and those that have chronic diseases are easily affected by the deadly pandemic.

Meanwhile UMgungundlovu district mayor, Thobekile Maphumulo, says it is still important that citizens continue to exercise health precautions even after the fight against COVID-19.

Maphumulo had been speaking at Jika Joe Informal Settlement in Maritzburg during the Sanitisation Programme led by Finance MEC, Ravi Pillay.

She further says it’s their duty as mayors and councillors to keeping on preaching the word of cleanliness so that any other kind of diseases are prevented.
