Mkhwebane Clears Mokonyane of Corruption

Public Protector Busisiwe Mkhwebane today released a number of investigation reports conducted by her office for the third quarter of the 2020/21 financial year.

She released 14 reports of which five have been closed due to unsubstantiated allegations.

These include clearing former Water and Sanitation minister Nomvula Mokonyane of corruption in the Giyani water project in Limpopo, following the DA claiming Mokonyane had influenced tender processes.

Mkhwebane said her office found no evidence of irregularities in the awarding of the project.
