Former Chief Justice Mogoeng Mogoeng has questioned the impact of Covid-19 related corruption on human rights.
Delivering a keynote speech at the Forum of Institutions Supporting Democracy, he noted the mishandling of the pandemic by government, saying good governance requires a respect for people’s rights.
Adding to this, he said, it is necessary that transparency, accountability, and the supremacy of our constitution be enjoyed by all.
He also raised the issue of vaccines, noting that transparency around reports that people have died from vaccines or not, is important.
