Former president, Kgalema Motlante, has urged the ANC to allow its ordinary members to participate in the political life of the organisation and to be given tasks within the organisation.
Kgalema had been speaking in the Pietermaritzburg City Hall at the memorial lecture of, Raymond Mhlaba, who was an anti apartheid activist and a leader of the ANC also the first Premier of the Eastern Cape.
The former president says giving branch members duties to perform would allow them have credible discussions of the organisation other than having to focus on the positions.
