Motsepe Foundation announce R150 million school sports sponsorship

The Motsepe Foundation announced a huge sponsorship donation to the South African Government for the advancement of school sports in the country. The announcement was made at a Press conference in Sandton on Thursday afternoon. In attendance was the Chairperson and Ceo of the Motsepe Foundation Dr. Patrice Motsepe/Dr Precious Moloi Motsepe, the Premier of Gauteng Panyaza Lusufi, Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga, SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan and Netball SA President Cecelia Molokwane.

The Foundation has put forward R150 Million for the development of football for boys and girls in Primary and Secondary school, School African Choral and Indigenous music and schools Netball.

The sponsorship deal will run for the next 5 years, as part of the existing partnership between the Motsepe Foundation and the South African governmnent that started in 2016, with a reported R70 million that has been paid to date.
