Home Affairs minister, Aaron Motsoaledi, has temporarily suspended several services rendered by his department under level three of the lockdown.
The suspension is forced by the increasing number of home affairs employees who have tested positive for COVID-19.
Between March and December last year 5 hundred and 32 staff tested positive for Covid-19, largely in Gauteng, Eastern Cape, Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal offices.
Motsoaledi says the suspension of services is unfortunate.
