The corruption case against chief Magistrate Desmond Nair has been postponed to December for the defense to make representations.

Nair appeared briefly at the Pretoria Specialised Commercial Crimes Court on fraud and corruption charges.

The charges of corruption are linked to African Global Operations, formerly known as Bosasa.

He was placed on provisional suspension following an allegation of wrongdoing that came in the form of testimony at the Zondo Commission in 2019 by Richard Le Roux.

Nair stands accused of having received gratification in the form of an electric fence, an alarm system, perimeter beams, and a CCTV system to the value of R200 000.

Investigating Directorate National Spokesperson Sindisiwe Seboka elaborates.
