NEHAWU Calls for Permanent Employment for CCGs

NEHAWU KwaZulu-Natal Deputy Chairperson Nomkhosi Xulu says the department of Health must recognize the hard work done by the Community Care Givers in the province and hire them permanently.

Xulu’s call comes after the CCG’s in UMgungundlovu district marched to the department’s head office in Pietermaritzburg where they handed over a memorandum of their grievances.

This includes better working conditions and salaries.

The deputy chairperson says the department has also failed to reach a decision of an agreement that was signed by the union in 2018 to hire the CCGs on a permanent basis and not to work under contracts.
