New GBV Bills Introduced

The National Assembly says the Gender-Based Violence Bills it published yesterday further provide how acts of domestic violence and related matters must be dealt with.
The justice committee crafted the GBV bills, with members of parliament and they include the Sexual Offences and Related Matters Amendment Bill, the Domestic Violence Amendment Bill, and the Criminal and Related Matters Amendment Bill.
Parliament’s spokesperson Moloto Mothapo says they further regulate obtaining of protection orders in response to acts of domestic violence.
The Bills will also regulate the National Register for Sex Offenders.
