New KZN DA Leader Awaits

The  Democratic Alliance (DA) in KwaZulu-Natal says it is ready to hold its provincial elective conference, as all eyes are on the three candidates that will be battling for the Provincial Leader position.

The conference is expected to take place this coming Saturday, 27 March, in Durban.

The three candidates contesting for the provincial leader position includes the party’s eThekwini Municipality caucus leader Nicole Graham, her deputy Emmanuel Mhlongo and the party’s current Chairperson, Francois Rodgers.

The outgoing party leader, Zwakele Mncwango, has made it very clear that will not be contesting after serving two terms.

The 31-year old Nicole Graham, the only female contesting, says she feels that she has got all it take to lead the DA in this province.

Meanwhile the 46-year old Emmanuel Mhlongo, who was born in Bulwer, South West of the province, says having experienced life in both rural and urban areas, and having interacted with the people of this province from all backgrounds, he believes he is the right man for the position.

59-year old Francois Rodgers says with the vast experience that he has, having occupied various positions in the party, he believes given the position of being the provincial leader, he is well positioned to grow the party.

By Saturday afternoon, the DA will know who get to stir the ship.
