New Vaccines Expected in SA Next Week

It’s not all doom and gloom for South Africa in the fight against COVD-19, following the announcement that a batch of Johnson & Johnson vaccine is expected to arrive in the country next week.

All hope seemed lost yesterday, after the revelation that the 1 million AstraZeneca doses have an expiry date of April this year, and indications that the vaccine has 22% efficacy in preventing mild to moderate cases of the new variant in SA.

This has led to a temporary halt in the roll-out of the AstraZeneca doses by government.

Health Minister, Zweli Mkhize has confirmed that Johnson & Johnson vaccine is expected next week, which seems to have re-ignited the torch of hope in many people, with some voicing it on social media platforms.
