Ngubane slams Gupta board allegations at Zondo Commission

Former Eskom chairperson Ben Ngubane has slammed allegations at the commission of inquiry into state capture that he was part of a so-called Gupta board at Eskom.
The commission is continuing to hear Eskom-related evidence today.
Ngubane, who resigned in 2017, has been responding to a statement by former Eskom chairperson Zola Tsotsi, who recently referred to the Eskom board as the Gupta board.

Meanwhile no load-shedding is expected today after Eskom managed to repair a conveyor belt feeding coal into the Medupi generation units.
Spokesperson, Sikonathi Mantshantsha, says this has improved the power utility’s capacity to supply electricity to its customers.
He has again urged South Africans to continue using electricity sparingly in order to assist Eskom in avoiding load-shedding.
