The National Prosecuting Authority says they are confident in their perjury case against the Public Protector, Busisiwe Mkhwebane.
The NPA’s comment follows the postponement of the perjury case against the PP in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court to 25 March.
Mkhwebane is accused of lying about meeting former president Jacob Zuma on three occasions, where the provisional and final Absa-Bankorp report and recommendations were allegedly discussed.
Her legal team has indicated it will be submitting an application to have the charges withdrawn.
The NPA’s Sipho Ngwema says their case is strong.
