The National Student Financial Aid Scheme says it has done all it can to close loopholes in its systems.
This follows a report by the Special Investigating Unit, revealing that five-billion-rand was paid to thousands of unqualifying students between 2018 and 2021.
NSFAS board chairperson Ernest Khoza says since then, much work has been done to resolve the issue of students who defraud the system.
He says the report does not reflect the current state of the organisation.
