The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa (NUMSA) together with the South African Cabin Crew Association are dismayed at the South Gauteng High Court’s decision to liquidate SA Express.
The state-owned airline has been grounded since it went into provisional liquidation in April 2020, after failed attempts to rescue the business.
The liquidation of SA Express follows closely the closure of local airline Comair in June.
Numsa spokesperson, Phakamile Hlubi-Majola, says they condemn the Department of Public Enterprises for the role it played in destroying the airline.
