Opposition parties say the postponement of the parliamentary Section 89 report vote is a sign that this matter is not settled within the African National Congress (ANC).
MPs at the National Assembly are set to debate the Phala Phala matter next week, following the release of the report which found that the president may have breached the Constitution and broken anti-corruption laws.
Ramaphosa is accused of concealing the theft of foreign currency at his Phala Phala game farm in 2020.
The president has denied any wrongdoing, even filing an application to the Constitutional Court to review and set aside the report’s findings.
Steenhusen says it’s evident that some in the ANC are not happy with the decision taken by the ruling party’s NEC.
