Political parties in KwaZulu-Natal say they expect President Cyril Ramaphosa to outline how government will distribute COVID 19 vaccine when he delivers the state of the nation address.
Ramaphosa will deliver the Address tomorrow, under the theme, following up on our commitments, making your future work better.
Two weeks ago parliament announced that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, this year’s Sona would be taking a hybrid format with only 50 MPs allowed in the house.
Other members will join the address virtually.
Last week, South Africa suspended its vaccination campaign against COVID-19 after a new study revealed that the AstraZeneca vaccine is less effective against a variant of the virus found in the country.
The study found that the vaccine was only 22% effective in moderate cases of the South African variant of the disease.
The variant has been found in at least 32 other countries including the United States.
DA provincial leader Zwakele Mcwango says it’s sacrosanct for the vaccine to be distributed to all people who wishes to be vaccinated.
