DA Leader John Steenhuisen says president Cyril Ramaphosa is a real nowhere man, sitting in his nowhere land , making all his nowhere plans for nobody.
Steenhuisen had been delivering his speech during the State of the Nation Address (SONA) debate.
He says the mood going into this SONA was not hopeful at all, aside from a few lines about COVID and vaccines, this SONA was more or less a repeat of 2020, 2019 and 2018.
On corruption, Steenhuisen says “We don’t need another council or panel or agency. What we need is to bring back the Scorpions with their 93% conviction rate, which is most likely why they were disbanded in the first place.”

EFF Leader Julius Malema says today, the unemployment rate has increased to 30.1% and the number of unemployed people has increased to well over 10 million since Ramaphosa took office.
He says when Ramaphosa was elected as a President in 2018, the unemployment rate in South Africa was 26.1%, which makes more than 8.8 million people, mainly black youth, were unemployed.
“More than 2mil people who had jobs when he took office no longer have jobs. This means that in the same way you claim victories for an increase in jobs, you must also take full responsibility when more than 2 mil breadwinners lose their jobs,” adds Malema.
