The Organisation Undoing Tax Abuse, has welcomed the Western Cape High Court’s judgment dismissing, Nomgcobo Jiba’s, bid to get her job back.

Jiba had asked the court to order President, Cyril Ramaphosa, and the National Director of Public Prosecutions, Shamila Batohi, to reinstate her to the Deputy National Director of Public Prosecutions.

She wanted the court to rule that Ramaphosa violated the Constitution in terms of Section 12 of the National Prosecuting Authority Act and acted unlawfully when he appointed an inquiry against her.

Jiba and her colleague, Lawrence Mrwebi, were fired in April after the inquiry found them unfit to hold office.

She will be challenging the inquiry that recommended she be dismissed after it found she was not fit to be in office, however a date has not yet been set to hear the matter.
