Over 50s to be Vaccinated Next Month

Acting Health Minister, Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane, says registration for COVID-19 vaccinations will open to over-50s from July 1, and their jabs will begin from July 15th.

Kubayi-Ngubane has been briefing media on the progress of government efforts in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, including an update on the national vaccination rollout programme.

The country has vaccinated more than 2.5 million people with no deaths reported.

South Africa has previously only allowed healthcare workers and people over the age of 60 to register for vaccinations.
